Fleas and ticks
Flea and tick season is in full swing.protect your pets with a topical spot on treatment or consult with your vet first if your pet has allergy problems to make sure it's safe to apply, same goes for very elderly pets who may only be able to tolerate certain flea and tick products due to age, health issues or other medications they may be taking.Lyme disease can be deadly for pets as well as humans, you can also contract secondary diseases from a tick bite, including parasites in the blood!all ticks can carry Lyme disease ,as they can inter breed with each other.if you pull a tick off make sure you do it properly,if your not sure how, consult your vet or doctor.check your pets when they come inside as well as children, remember once you contract Lyme disease if it's not treated immediately,it will never go away.also make sure your pets are tested for heart worm disease and put on a heart worm preventative, this can also be deadly to dogs and cats!have a safe summer!

Puppies
When you adopt a new pup always find out what kind of grooming schedule your pup should be on for that particular breed,or if it's a mixed breed,go by whichever breed it looks closest to.it is very important to start them at least by 3 months of age, make sure your vet gives them the required vaccines they need before bringing them to the grooming salon.always research your local grooming salons before choosing a reputable groomer, the local veterinarians usually will recommend the best groomers in the area, also check with friends and neighbors to see who they use.puppies need to learn the routine of grooming they also need to get used to the different sounds of a grooming salon, whether it be the sound of the dryers or the other dogs who might bark and the most important noise the sound of the clipper if they need a haircut.I always make sure I have my own separate bond with them aside from the bond they have with their owner, they need to trust their groomer and feel safe with that person.hope this helped!come visit soon for my next blogalicious tips!j.j.
